Billy is a simple soul, living a simple life where nothing much changes until a letter arrives out of the blue from a solicitor telling him of his legacy. He has inherited some money and a flat by the river, with a sitting tenant. However, when that tenant ends up dead, Billy starts to investigate. As he does, he discovers things he never knew about his life and his aunt, the mysterious benefactress. As the mystery of the death becomes clearer, Billy starts to experience some unfortunate and increasingly dangerous incidents. This culminates in a final coup de grâce on the high-level railway lines of South London. Will Billy get his man, or will he die trying?
